«The Domínico Americano School participates in the International Mathematical Kangaroo Competition»

Last Sunday, March 19th, the International Mathematical Kangaroo Competition took place at the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), organized exclusively in the Dominican Republic by the Fundación Ayudar Me Da Vida, a non-profit organization whose objective is to empower children through mathematics.

Internationally, this competition is organized by Kangourou Sans Frontieres, an international non-profit institution comprised of more than 70 countries, with the purpose of creating opportunities to develop mathematical logic, designed for both students who enjoy mathematics and those who are afraid of it.

For qualification, the first round of competition was held at the Dominico Americano School on Thursday, March 16th, with the participation of 50 students from 4th to 11th grade, who were evaluated for 50 minutes with logic tests in a tribe mode.

In the inter-school competition, the students participated in adventure mode, and out of the 10 participants from our school who earned a spot, 9 participated in different categories. In the PreEcolier category, two 4th-grade students, Anderson Suero and Ian Webber, won third and second place, respectively. A special recognition was also awarded to Nura Abreu, a 10th-grade student, for her outstanding participation.

The International Mathematical Kangaroo Competition is an excellent opportunity for students to develop their skills and spark their interest in this field. Congratulations to the winners and all participants for their dedication and effort in this competition.
