Science Week 2026: creativity, innovation, and commitment to a sustainable future

From April 27 to 30, our school celebrated a new edition of Science Week, an educational experience that filled our spaces with creativity, curiosity, and innovation, engaging students from 1st to 12th grade.

During these four days, students presented their projects to judges and peers from different academic levels, fostering a collaborative learning environment where the exchange of ideas, critical thinking, and scientific exploration were the true highlights.

This year’s theme, “Gardens, Sustainability and Carbon Footprint”, invited the student community to reflect on the importance of adopting responsible practices that contribute to environmental care and the building of a more sustainable future.

Through garden models, innovative sustainability proposals, research, and creative solutions to reduce environmental impact, students demonstrated not only their scientific knowledge but also their ability to analyze real-world challenges and propose alternatives with a positive impact on society.

In addition to strengthening academic skills, Science Week fostered essential competencies such as teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, and a commitment to protecting our planet.

We congratulate all students for their dedication, effort, and enthusiasm, as well as the teachers and families who supported every project. Their work and creativity made this edition of Science Week an inspiring experience that reaffirms the value of science as a tool for creating positive change in the world.

We are proud of each and every one of our students and the passion with which they took on the challenge of imagining and building solutions for a greener future.

Domínico Americano School is crowned champion of the GBC Cup

Sports, passion, and the spirit of self-improvement were the main highlights during the celebration of the GBC Cup, an event that gathered young athletes, academies, and educational centers for a day filled with excitement, talent, and healthy competition.

Held at the Domínico Americano Sports Complex, the competition turned into a true sports festival, where every match reflected the commitment, discipline, and effort of the participants both on and off the court.

One of the most outstanding moments of the event was the victory of Domínico Americano School, which earned first place in the school category, demonstrating an exceptional performance based on teamwork, perseverance, and a commitment to sports excellence.

The institution celebrates this important achievement as the result of the constant effort of its student-athletes, coaches, and families, who have contributed to developing a sports culture grounded in dedication and camaraderie.

The event was made possible thanks to the leadership of Raymond Rodríguez Jr., president of the GBC Foundation, and Jean Carlos Pichardo, founder of BLITZ Academy, who drove an initiative focused on promoting sports development and the comprehensive growth of young people.

Domínico Americano School celebrates its Spirit Week with enthusiasm and student creativity

The Domínico Americano School celebrated its traditional Spirit Week from March 23 to 26, an initiative that fosters integration, a sense of belonging, and creative expression among students.

For four consecutive days, the student community engaged in themed activities that brought dynamism and energy to the school environment. The week began on Monday with Crazy Hair Day, where students stood out with original hairstyles and eye-catching accessories.

On Tuesday, Twin Day encouraged friendship and teamwork through coordinated outfits among classmates or small groups. The celebration continued on Wednesday with Mismatch Day, in which students combined colors and patterns creatively while respecting the institutional dress code.

The week concluded on Thursday with Sports Day, a moment when students proudly represented their favorite sports or teams, strengthening school spirit and camaraderie.

This activity is part of the school’s initiatives to enrich the student experience, promoting values such as creativity, collaboration, and institutional identity.

Students participate in a talk on personal protection and environmental care

Students experienced an enriching talk that went beyond personal care, also addressing the importance of protecting our marine ecosystems.

The activity, led by the institution’s ECO Committee, allowed participants to learn about the use of sunscreen not only as a measure to protect the skin, but also as a key action to preserve coral reefs. During the session, it was emphasized how every decision—even before entering the sea—can have a significant impact on the environment.

This initiative was made possible thanks to the support of Dr. Reina de los Santos and her team, who joined this cause with the aim of fostering environmental awareness and promoting responsible actions within the educational community.

Through activities like this, the institution reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness, protecting the present, and caring for the future.

11th grade students present their play launch inspired by Alice in Wonderland

The educational community experienced an unforgettable event with the launch of the 11th grade theatrical production, where student creativity and talent took center stage.

On this occasion, the students presented Alice in Wonderland, successfully transporting the audience to a world full of imagination and fantasy. Through their performances, the young actors not only showcased artistic skills on stage but also demonstrated a high level of commitment, passion, and teamwork.

The staging stood out for its careful production, attention to detail, and the dedication of each participant, highlighting the artistic potential nurtured within the institution.

The event was warmly received by attendees, who enjoyed a magical evening that left a lasting impression on the entire educational community.
